Undergraduate Program - General Information

1.  Objective of Department of International Trade

Changes in the world economy and information technologies brought in the demand for human resources that have contemporary knowledge and international skills. In order to fill this gap, Department of International Trade was established in 1996 and aimed to contribute global competitive advantage of Turkey with its graduates. 

2. Characteristics of the Curriculum

Program offers several courses in the field of management and economics with a diverse list of specialization courses including entrepreneurship, banking, insurance, international trade law, international logistics and transportation, international retailing and franchising. Some of the departmental elective courses are given by part time faculty who have a strong academic background and who are leading professionals in their fields.

3. Second foreign language requirement

The language of instruction is English. Department of International Trade students are required to take six semesters of a second foreign language course (such as German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian) other than English.

4. Internship requirement

Following the second and third years of education, students are required to complete a total of 60 days internship in organizations approved by the Department. Internships can be completed either in Turkey or abroad. Overseas internships are encouraged.

5. Double Major 

During their undergraduate education, students in one department may simultaneously follow another undergraduate program related to their major field of study with departments within the same school or another school. Such programs of education are referred to as the "Double Major Programs." Students of Department of International Trade can follow “double major” programs with the Departments of Management Information Systems and Tourism Administration. Double Major Requirements are determined by the departments.

6. Exchange programs 

An exchange program is an opportunity granted to successful students. Boğaziçi University encourages students to study abroad for one or two semesters. In addition to the Erasmus Exchange Program for European countries, Boğaziçi University has partnerships with a large number of colleges and universities in U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Europe, China, and Japan.

7. Extracurricular activities

Extracurricular activities have a prominent place at Boğaziçi University. Students of Department of International Trade are active participants in university student clubs that appeal to their interests. Students are encouraged to take part in departmental activities like seminars and conferences. Student council membership is another channel for student participation.

9.  Universities that INTT graduates choose for graduate studies
